The paper, "Reconstruction of the Atanasoff-Berry Computer" was presented in August, 1998 in Paderborn, Germany and later appeared in the Annals of the History of Computing.
The paper is available in the following formats: HTML, MS Word
Dr. Gustafson also wrote a 1985 technical report, "First Electronic Digital Calculating Machine Forerunner to Cornell's FPS-165/MAX". This report is available in the following formats: PDF, HTML, MS Word
The keynote speech at the inaugural meeting of the IEEE John Vincent Atanasoff International Symposium on Modern Computing (JVA 2006) was given by Dr. Gustafson. It was at this conference that Bulgarian president Parvanov awarded Dr. Gustafson the International Atanasoff Award. This paper, "The Quest for Linear Equation Solvers," summarizes that presentation.

While the Atanasoff-Berry Computer (ABC) runs successfully, the reconstructed device clearly should not repeatedly be used for live demonstrations that would lead to wear and tear. Soon after the reconstruction was completed, this video was made to show how the computer could solve a complete problem from beginning to end. https://www.wimp.com/possibly-the-most-important-computer-youve-never-heard-of/
